Hello Accursed Jumpers,

For those who ordered the traditionally-printed softcover edition, the Onyx Path team has sorted out the interior stuff and is just waiting for final specs to lock in the cover before the printer can start the presses. Once I have a timeline for that and know the final specs of the book, I'll begin our lockdown process and get everything prepped for delivery.

But that's still a little bit away. For now, we'll deal with the digital and print-on-demand rewards.

FINALIZED PDF NOW AVAIALBLE ON DTRPG

Thanks to your feedback during the campaign and after the Backer PDF went out, Onyx Path has updated and finalized The Wolf You Feed - Curseborne Jumpstart PDF. The latest version is now available on DriveThruRPG and, if you've previously downloaded it, will be available to download at anytime from your DTRPG digital library.

If you hadn't yet downloaded it when the backer PDF went out, your redemption code in your Pledge Manager digital rewards page will add this latest version to your DTRPG cart for $0 so you won't have to worry about re-downloading, it's already been udpated for you.

This is a discount link for a one-off printed version of the PDF that has been released for purchase on DriveThruRPG.com (but YOU can order it at a discounted cost if you wish!) As mentioned at the top, Onyx Path is currently working on your traditionally-printed softcover and I'll have more info about that in the next month or two. 

DIFFERENCES IN PoD FORMATS

So, for those backers who pledged at the PRINT reward tier, or those backers who will later be receiving the softcover book but might be looking for a second copy for the table - or can't wait until the print prodution has completed -  there are two different versions of Print-On-Demand options available.


Standard Color uses a thick 70# white paper which has better page opacity. (that's "70 pound" for reference, but does not mean each page weighs 70 lbs!).  Standard Heavyweight Color uses inkjet technology. (These are not the same inkjet printers you have at home - these are often as big or bigger than a car!) This option offers lower cost but the colors won't be as sharp or bright as a Premium Color book.

Premium Color uses the same 70# paper, but uses "Digital Color Print Engine Technology," which sounds super fancy and certainly costs a lot more, but I'll admit to not knowing the exact difference. This option offers superior color quality but is more expensive to produce, and has gotten even more expensive over the past year.

(Remember to login to DriveThruRPG prior to clicking or pasting the discount link in your BackerKit digital rewards locker, if you that was part of your rewards list! That link is your coupon and must be used for your PoD order.)

Hello Accursed Jumpers,

Right now, test prints for the Print-on-Demand version that DriveThruRPG will be selling have been ordered, and once that's all sorted, the Onyx Path team should release the finalized PDF and PoD. I'll notify you as soon as that happens.

They're also setting up this book for it's eventual print run and prepping manufacturing. The Storyguide Reference PDF is in layout.

No big changes this month. The softcover book is currently part of a big project being sorted between the team and Onyx Path's print partner (they're doing the core rulebook, the deluxe book, the making of book, the screen, and the slipcase edition all at the same time) and slowly moving forward.

Hello Accursed Jumpers,

It's been about a month since our backer PDF for The Wolf You Feed was distributed out to backers. Onyx Path took the feedback you submitted during the campaign and after reviewing the backer PDF, and is currently working on the finalized PDF and Print-on-Demand versions. Once those have been reviewed and approved, they'll update the PDF on DriveThruRPG and you'll be able to download the latest version from your digitial library at your convenience.

At the same time, they're also locking down the specs for the softcover with the printer so it can go into production as quickly as possible. Hopefully there should be a bunch of Curseborne books on your shelves by the end of the year!

MONTHLY UPDATES

With the Pledge Manager up and running, this is our first "regular" update for our project. I'll send these updates out every month to let you know where we sit. This campaign is moving faster than any previous campaign, so we'll also give ourselves some wiggle room to improvise as needed. Any time we have a new reward or something of interest to share, I'll include that as well.

Each month, I'll list our "Pending" rewards and our "Delivered" rewards. We'll track the project status of our pending rewards by filling in the stage dots, and I'll note which update (and include a link) with each delivered reward, in case you want to go back and re-read the relevant update for more information. If any of these rewards were on your pledge list, you can access download codes in your BackerKit Digital Rewards page. And once they've been added to your DriveThruRPG library, you can access them through your DTRPG digital library at any time.

Hello Jumpers,

Just over a month ago, we launched this Crowdfunding campaign to turn the rough draft of the Curseborne jumpstart into a PDF and softcover book. Nearly 450 fans came out to support this and made it happen in a quick two-week campaign.

Earlier this week, we launched the Pledge Manager for the post-campaign phase and started sending out backer surveys to everyone who pledged their support.

And today, to continue our rapid run for this project, I've got rewards ready to go out to you.

But not just the existing PDFs that were Add On options during the campaign (though I've got those too!), but our primary reward - the Curseborne Jumpstart: The Wolf You Feed!

Reward Distribution: CURSEBORNE JUMPSTART: THE WOLF YOIU FEED Backer PDF



Curseborne is a game about being unaplogetic monsters in a world where being monstrous is the least of your worries. In Cursborne, you play as Accursed, descendants of monstrous lineages lurking in a modern world that closely resembles our own. You rebel against the ancient feuds between these entwined families, as well as against the web of curses that binds you, while fending off inhuman antagonists seeking to claim - or reclaim - your power.

Inside this jumpstart you will find:

  • Complete rules for playing a Curseborne adventure using the Storypath Ultra system.
  • The Wolf You Feed, an introductory adventure which follows an investigation into the disappearance of Rosa Rivers.

BACKER PDF VERSION

This is the first version of the Curseborne Jumpstart to be released. The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. You may have submitted feedback during the draft manuscript phase - anything submitted now will be added to that list to help the team finalize the PDF for release and prepare for the softcover print run.

With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the Curseborne Jumpstart Feedback Form!

Onyx Path will be launching a special The Wolf You Feedback Form, which you will be able to access here: https://forms.gle/kDXdc7mtuXM58ibBA


They are aware of any Page XX notations - those are left in to replace for the final version once any changes you've suggested are made, so they can reference the correct page if any shifts in layout result.

Onyx Path will keep errata collection open for one week only. Please submit your feedback as soon as possible so the team can get on to finalizing this file - and working on our print version as well!

They won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form.

After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), they will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.

You've already made the book a reality with your support. Now you can make it even better by helping us crowdsource any minor errors and corrections.

MONTHLY UPDATES

With the Pledge Manager up and running, in June I'll have our first "regular" update for our project. I'll send these updates out every month to let you know where we sit. We're still in the earliest stages of this post-campaign, where projects make incremental movements along the progress path. A lot of months will be pretty similar, just a quick note to let you know that the Onyx Path team is still working on it. Any time we have a new reward or something of interest to share, I'll include that as well.

At the end of each month, I'll include a summary of our rewards and their current status (they'll either be delivered or marked as still pending, possibly with additional details if I know more). I'll also list any relevant Update posts, in case you want to go back and check into something.
